Andégo Internships Abroad Scholarships for SHF students

Andégo's Gap Year Teaching Assistant Internship provides graduating seniors the opportunity to spend an immersive year in France as a Language Teaching Assistant Intern

Andégo's Gap Year Teaching Assistant Internship provides graduating seniors the opportunity to spend an immersive year in France as a Language Teaching Assistant Intern in an elementary, middle, or high school to assist Language Teachers across France excite their students about learning languages. Participants receive room, board, a monthly stipend, and can earn university credits while abroad! Scholarship applications are due Sunday, March 30th at 11:59pm Pacific.  Andégo will award up to four (4) $1,000 scholarships and two (2) $2,500 scholarships towards participation in our Language Assistant Gap Year Internship.

 

Eligibility- Applicants must:

  • Be a member or officer of a current chapter of La Société Honoraire de Français
  • Have completed an initial application to and be otherwise eligible for the Andégo Internships Abroad Language Assistant Program
  • Be at least 18 by the start of their internship (September 2025)

-Submit a letter to gapyear@andego.org explaining how receiving this scholarship would positively impact your ability to more fully benefit from your year abroad. Be sure to reference your motivations and goals for spending a year immersed in France during this school-based internship as well as specific activity in your SHF chapter promoting the appreciation and study of the French language.

- Request a letter of recommendation from someone OTHER than your French teacher or a family member sent to gapyear@andego.org commenting on your commitment to academic success & community building (community being the community at large or those with whom you come in contact- classmates, teammates, neighbors, etc.).

 

Our scholarship committee hopes to make decisions within 10 days of the deadline and we will notify all applicants via email.

It is AATF policy that we do not share feedback and/or evaluator comments which relate to contests, scholarship/grant/award applications, convention session proposals, or any other AATF event in which submissions are judged/rated/evaluated, and all decisions are considered final once the overseeing body is in agreement on the results. As teachers, we understand the importance of feedback, however, in order to prevent coercion, retaliation, or hurt feelings, the AATF is unable to share specific feedback with members.
