Embedding paradise in the classroom: stories from Guadeloupe

with presenter Beckie Bray Rankin

Let's explore France near the US: Guadeloupe! Unpack products, practices, and perspectives as we retrace steps through a twisted history that has made the butterfly island what it is today. From empowering graffiti to colorful vistas and from welcoming people to delicious street food, Guadeloupe is still une destination de rêve!

I can describe the impact of French colonial history on the current events in Guadeloupe

I can identify three interdisciplinary activities on each side of the island.

I can integrate my learning into a unit for my students.
