The Alliance Française de Washington, is currently looking for hourly teachers of French as a foreign language who could teach in person to adults (higher education) between 6 and 8pm Mondays thru Thursdays at their premises in DC.

- For teaching adults, we prefer someone who has at least a DAEFLE or 3 years’ experience teaching using the CEFR. They can train someone who has experience teaching without the CEFR – attending classes led by one of our expert teachers- but we will also require them to study with the AF-CAVILAM (Vichy) through their free MOOC programs (parcours découverte and parcours avancé) as a pre-requisite to teaching one of our classes.
Wages range from $38/hour for any classes taught weekdays in the evenings to $40/hour on Saturdays. Teachers receive a Free membership at AFDC valid for one year. There is no parking at our premises, and it is a historic grand-fathered building without any elevators, and on 4 floors.
Candidates should send to the Executive Director, Sarah Diligenti, via email their resume in English + lettre de motivation en français and at least 3 professional references. There is a first interview with the academic director and the youth programs senior coordinator, then, if they are happy with the candidate, a second interview with the Executive Director. The first interview can be held on Zoom, the second interview must be in person. We do not call back candidates and only reply to those whose profile meets our needs.
